Do you have a …?
Warm up and review.
Go through vocabulary flash cards that they will be using
for the go fish game. Make sure they have it down. (Example Bear, Tiger,
Giraffe, Panda, Monkey)
Go Fish Game
Have enough flash cards so that each student has 5 cards.
Tell the students that they are to go around the room, they should Janken(Rock, Scissors, Paper) to
see who goes first. The student that wins Janken asks the other student “Do you
have a …?” if the second student does have the card the other student replies “Yes,
I do.” and gives the other student the card. If the student does not have the
card they say. “No, I don’t.”
The person with the most pairs at the end is the winner.
When the game is over a work sheet should be handed out to
students. The students should write Yes I do. or No, I don’t. and the number at
the side of the page. At the top of the form there should be a line for names.
Students should be encouraged to write their name in roman characters with the
first letters capitalized.
Find your team
Hand out one animal to each person. They should be given at
random. Each student must ask the other students. “Do you have a ____?” ( they
ask if the other student has the same card as them). The other student then
answers “Yes, I do.” or “No, I don`t” If they both have the same card they are
on the same team.
Shy Moony (Hangman relabeled)
Students as if there is a certain letter on the board if
there isn’t part of moony disappears. If there is, moony stays. If the students
can guess the word before all of moony disappears, they win, and moony comes
back.
Cool Down
Review “Do you have a ___?” grammar, using animal flash
cards.
